Citizens Advice Medway is a registered charity that offers free, independent and impartial advice to the whole of Medway on a range of issues including Housing, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Debt, Family Law and many others.
The Pension Wise service is a starting point to help people take control of their finances for retirement. The service is funded by the Government.
Pension Wise guidance applies to private pensions only. Face to face guidance operated by the national Citizens Advice network will enable people to understand their pension options and how they relate to their own situation, so they can make informed choices. The telephone and online services will be operated by the Pension Advisory Service. The advice provided by this service is guidance, not regulated financial advice.
There are 50 Citizens Advice centres in the country that serve as "Delivery Centres" who actually provide the face to face advice. The other Citizens Advice centres will be responsible for identifying people who would benefit from the Pension Wise service and referring them to their local Delivery Centre. The appointments are arranged by the Delivery Centre who will send their Pension Guide to see a client at the nearest Citizens Advice centre to the client (which may not be their local one). This is done to make things as easy as possible for clients to access the service and not have to travel great distances.
Citizens Advice Medway is not one of the Delivery Centres. If you want an appointment for Pension Wise, you will need to go through our Initial Check process and once we have confirmed that a Pension Wise appointment would be useful to you, we will pass your details to the Delivery Centre that covers Kent who will get in contact with you to arrange an appointment.
