Citizens Advice Medway is a registered charity that offers free, independent and impartial advice to the whole of Medway on a range of issues including Housing, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Debt, Family Law and many others.
Citizens Advice Medway receives funding from the Kent Police & Crime Commissioner - Matthew Scott - to run a specialist Hate Crime project called Individuality.
Covering the whole of Kent & Medway, Individuality aims to raise awareness of Hate Crime, encourage disclosures and reporting of Hate Crimes, and provide advice to victims on what comes next. Police forces refer the majority of clients that need this service however people are free to self refer by calling our dedicated phone line (listed below).

Anyone can contact the Individuality team to report their own experiences (recent or historic) or something they may have witnessed. The rest of the staff at Citizens Advice Medway have also been trained to recognise when a client who may have contracted us for a totally separate reason has been the victim of a Hate Crime. The Individuality team has two roles:
We have an extensive amount of resources to draw on to help you through any difficult times you may be going through as a result of being a victim of a Hate Crime. You can contact the Individuality team on our dedicated phone line - 0345 241 4999, or via our dedicated email service - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alternatively, you can report a Hate Crime directly to the police via the True Vision website.
Reporting makes a difference to you, your friends and your community. By reporting Hate Crime when it happens, you can help stop it happening to someone else. You will also help the police to better understand the level of Hate Crime in your local area and improve the way they respond to it.
