The Trustee Board

As an independent charity, Citizens Advice Medway is overseen by a Trustee Board. Armed with creating the strategy and direction for the organisation and overseeing the management and finance of this Citizens Advice branch, these 5 volunteer members serve a crucial role.

In their work, these Trustees are responsible for ensuring that we comply with all our legal responsibilities, that we meet standards set by Citizens Advice nationwide, and that our financial affairs are conducted properly.

Our Trustees are:

  • David Ainsley - Chair of Trustees
  • Peter Murray - Vice Chair of Trustees
  • Alan Buckett - Treasurer
  • Oliver Martin - Trustee Board Member
  • Wendy Purdy - Trustee Board Member
  • Diane Chambers - Trustee Board Member

Each trustee brings a diverse background and collectively they bring experience in business, accounting, customer service, research, public sector management, project management, and sales. Like Dan McDonald, many of our Trustees are active in other volunteer organisations and all share a deep commitment to providing an effective, trustworthy, and efficient advice service for the people of Medway.

Volunteer Trustees

We are always looking to expand our volunteer team and it’s never too early for a new volunteer to become a Volunteer Trustee. As we consider Volunteer Trustees, we’re looking at not only your background but also your skills.

Qualifications include:

  • Commitment and availability
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of local needs and resources
  • Commitment to the aims, principles, and policies of the Citizens Advice service
  • Willingness and ability to act in the best interests of your local centre
  • Ability to understand and accept your responsibilities and liabilities as trustees and employers
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, and exercise good, independent judgment
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

If this sounds like something you are interested in and would like to volunteer as a Trustee for Citizens Advice Medway, please call us on 01634 383 760 or email Volunteering@medwayadvice.org.uk.
