Citizens Advice Medway is a registered charity that offers free, independent and impartial advice to the whole of Medway on a range of issues including Housing, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Debt, Family Law and many others.
Citizens Advice Medway is located in Gillingham, directly opposite Gillingham Train Station. Methods of getting help with a problem as well as making general enquires are listed below.
Kingsley House is wheel chair accessible and there is a lift in the building. There are public toilets on the ground floor of the building which include a disabled toilet. The closest car park is at Gillingham Train Station. Our telephones are turned off between 12:30pm and 1:00pm for the lunch period, however our drop-in service remains open.
Our main services are our drop in and telephone services. People can drop in or call us for a brief interview called an Initial Check. Essentially a "triage" system, you may be given the information you need straight away or we may arrange for you to have a full advice interview or to see one of our one of our Project Workers on the same day or at a later date. Alternatively you may be asked to call the national Citizens Advice Adviceline.
Our goal is to avoid not moving a person towards a resolution when they contact us. For more information, visit our page "Getting Advice".
We can only provide home visits and translators as part of certain Project Worker interviews.
You can drop in to our office between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or 9:00am and 1:00pm on Wednesday and Friday for an Initial Check.

We have a fax number for creditors and other organisations. The fax number is 01634 383767. Please be aware that enquiries for help made via the fax line are not recommended. They will be dealt with on the same basis as a letter enquiry - see below.

You can email or send a letter to us regarding admin matters as well and we will reply as soon as possible. This service is operated along the same process as the Initial Checks mentioned above.
If you work for another agency or advice organisation and you would like to refer a client to us for help with a specific issue, please email us at email@example.com and request a Third Party Referral Form. Once you've completed the referral form and sent it back to the above email address, we will consider the referral form as the Initial Check provided there is enough detail and contact the client to arrange an interview. If there is not enough detail in the referral form, we will contact the client to conduct an Initial Check first.
You can access our Webchat service through the button on the right side of each webpage on this site between 10:00am and 12:00pm Monday to Wednesday.
If our Webchat service is not being operated, you can still click on the button and you will be provided with our email address so you can still contact us. This service is operated along the same process as the Initial Checks mentioned above.
